Samsung Tocco Ultra
The Tocco Ultra is one of the nicest 8 megapixel phones on the market at the moment. It combines touch screen with a keypad which gives the best of both worlds! Samsung have really done it when it comes to build and features on this beast. With the additions of a document viewer, GPS, DivX support, MP3 and many other features this phone really is a power house.
Construction and Build:
As I mentioned earlier the Tocco Ultra combines both touch screen and full touch screen into one model. You’d think this would total up to make one massive handset, however you’d be wrong. The Ultra is a sleek phone and surprisingly thin and compact. It’s comfortable to hold and to use both with the keypad and also when using the touch screen.
My only concern when using the phone is that when it’s in the open position it is a little top heavy so for those of us who can be a little clumsy at times this could lead to some unfortunate dropping accidents!
One thing that’s really lacking is the inclusion of a 3.5mm headphone jack. This is a real shame because it means you’re stuck using Samsung headphones or at least searching for an audio adaptor.
All in all though it is a nice build, sturdy and compact. The inclusion of the front facing camera for video calls is a very nice addition and takes up relatively little space.
Camera:
The camera performs remarkably well. With the Ultra you can capture some absolutely superb snaps. The LED flash performs well in low light conditions and the auto focus really helps to avoid any blur.
The camera comes complete with a large number of settings which are a welcome addition to the camera. Face and smile detection come in handy at times and give a truer camera experience.
The video capture quality is also something the Ultra can boast about capturing at 30 Fps. The video quality is great and you can quite happily upload the videos and play them back on a larger screen without loosing too much quality.
Conclusion:
All in all this Is a very good handset. When it comes to camera then this is right up there and I’d definitely recommend this if camera is on the top of your priorities.
However despite some of the amazing features the interface isn’t great and you might often find yourself having to wait whiles the touch screen lags. It’s an absolute nuisance and really can ruin the overall experience.
If it’s a smart phone that you’re after and a great internet browser then look elsewhere. This is camera phone heaven but the other features are all very average. However it’s a smart looking phone and will definitely appeal to your senses!
