LG GW300
It seems as of late LG have ventured into the clone market bringing us a line of smartphone lookalikes. The GW300 is guaranteed to capture the hearts of the teen market with it’s Blackberry style and qwerty keypad. The good thing this time round is that LG have gone the extra mile to put in some upgraded features including, expandable memory up to 16gb, quad band support and a 3.5mm jack.
Construction and Build:
TheGW300 really stands out for it’s looks and it’s bound to attract a fair few people as it gives the impression of a low end smart phone. For those who love to text and browse the net visiting their social networking sites this is a really good piece of kits due to the hardware qwerty keyboard. This really comes in handy especially when using the built in Facebook support.
The keyboard feels a lot more sturdy when compared to something like the GW300 and it’s definitely a lot less fiddly.
The phone is very slim and light weight. In this case it actually feels quite durable despite the lightness of the handset.
I have to admit, this is a very stylish phone and bound to draw a few eyes!
Camera:
Once again LG let themselves down with poor camera performance. The phone wields a 2 mega pixel camera but lacks flash and auto focus. Once again the outcome is horrible grainy photos topped off with some terrible video capture.
Conclusion:
I’m not sure I like where LG are going with their clones right now. It seems the wait for another manufacturer to launch a product then follow it up with something that looks similar but under performs. However the GW300 is worth considering if you’re after something that looks the part but doesn’t necessarily need to give you a super feature set.
